Installation Note 38328: All SAS® 9.2 TS2M2 installations for revisions Rev. 920_09w44, Rev. 920_09w47, and Rev. 920_09w51 fail in z/OS operating environments in 2010

All SAS 9.2 installations in z/OS operating environments from orders in which the Software Order E-mail shows one of the following values for Product will fail on the maintenance installation step during the first 99 days of 2010:

  • SAS 9.2, Rev. 920_09w44
  • SAS 9.2, Rev. 920_09w47
  • SAS 9.2, Rev. 920_09w51

To circumvent this problem:

  1. Download the replacement setup.zip file from the FTP directory.

  2. Copy the downloaded file into your SAS Software Depot, replacing the setup.zip file at
    sas-depot-home/products/sasinstall__923nn__mvs__ne__sp0__1 , where nn is 00, 05, or 10, depending on the revision in your order.

    If you FTP the file from your PC to z/OS, ensure that you transfer the file in binary mode.

  3. Begin to deploy SAS with either the setup.rexx or linemode.rexx file.

Only for new installations (Action A): If you have already attempted to install your software and encountered this problem, delete all data sets with the specified high-level qualifier, and delete all files in the SASHOME directory, and in the configuration directory if you have a Planning installation, before you restart the SAS® Deployment Wizard.

This problem does not occur for orders in which the Software Order E-mail contains a value of SAS 9.2, Rev. 920_10wnn for Product.
